<br>Yesterday we had plans for the movie and left early to beat the traffic and voila -we got the parking space in just 2 minutes at the movie theatre. Guess that's a record break :). But these materialistic pleasures come at a cost. Dont they? ( I can imagine the heads nodding in approval ;)). We had to ditch our loving, laid-back evening tea to find that ever elusive parking spot!! I am sure, we can make it up to the tea the next day ;). But as luck would have it, Mr. McDonald's was our next door neighbour at the movie theatre and we decided to meet Mr McDonald over a cup of hot coffee and something to munch. With me being on diet (at least i can preach if not practice ;)), getting bored of fries and with lady luck on our side, we decided to give the latest add on to the Happy Price Menu a try for that munch - Crispy Veggie Pops. <br>
<br>
The happy price menu offers this for INR 25 with INR1 as tax,so, you end up shelling out INR 26. Sounds OK for 6 pieces, isn't it? Thats what we thought seeing those larger than life posters. A quick order and an even quicker delivery - and here we are staring at each other, laughing our hearts out on seeing the size of our serving. (Just check one of the photos, where one of the pops is shown along with my finger to get an idea of the size). It was time to taste it and we hoped it better be good to compensate for the size . Call us greedy maybe ;)<br>
<br>And here it goes, the one 'pop' in my mouth and gives a crispy munch. Crrrruuuuucchhhh! Its half the battle one. What follows is a nice tangy taste. The potatoes with the spinach taste is amazing with spices in perfect blend. I open the next one before it disappears in my mouth to check how it looks from inside. Its served piping hot and we can see the steam coming out and can see the green spinach and potatoes. </div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">So, here is the quick review for all those busy guys ;)</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">PROs</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Yummy</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Hot</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Crispy - the killer punch and the unique selling point as far as I am concerned</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">CONs</div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Size - maybe, Mcdonalds needs to reign in those larger than life posters </div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br></div><div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">All in all, a good beginning to the fabulous evening we had. <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
After the Mcegg, the latest in the McDonald's is the Masala Grill. I tried the veg masala grill. The patty is of potato with lots of spices and is grilled. Good for the low fat lovers :) . The burger has the grilled patty with chopped onions and a bit of mayo in it. All this is avilable at INR 45 and with taxes you shell out INR 47.<br />
<br />
<br />
I personally think the timing of the product is wrong . Considering that it's the hot season, they should have introduced this spicy masal grill in winter season when you do not mind having spicy food :)<br />

The Supreme's Corner on the J M Road is a popular hangout for all age groups from youngsters in groups to families . The menu is very simple pav bhaji, pizza and pulav.<br />

<br />
The place has been part of Pune for the last 30 years but nothing has been changed in the menu or the interiors of the place. The owner believes a lot in the vastu of the place and has continued with the same menu of pav bhaji , pizza and pulav. All the people working in the restaurant live in the owner's house and work as a perfect team.<br />
<br />
The restaurant opens at 7:30 in the evening and you can see queue of people especially on weekends.The restaurant has a unique method of reservation and to control the long queue's in a systematic manner. This advancement has been brought in by the new generation of the family members joining in the business. You need to SMS on the number 56070 with the message "Toke number Supreme Corner Name Number of people" .You get a prompt message on your mobile giving you your number in the long queue. We had send our message at prompt 7:30 , still our number in the queue was 14 and got a place to sit after an hour . Take away option is also available- for that you need to go on the backside of the shop to place the orders and here also you will find a big queue of people.<br />
<br />
The pav bhaji is served along with nicely buttered pav and finely chopped onion and pieces of lemon. The pav bhaji is served piping hot with dollop of amul butter and is amazing. You get this delicious pav bhaji for INR 90 and you can order extra jodi of pav (pair of pav) for INR 10<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">New Cheesy Boloroni Crust - Domino's</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Yet another hectic day in the office and ended up late at home and the same day my cook decided to take leave. But then i thought let's end the day on a cheesy not and walked into Domino's to try the New Cheesy Bolorni Crust :) <br />
<br />
Tried the new Chessy Boloroni crust at Domino's. <span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(175, 192, 227, 0.230469); -webkit-composition-frame-color: rgba(77, 128, 180, 0.230469); -webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.292969);">The tangy bolognese sauce along with molten cheddar </span>and<span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.294118);"> </span>mozarella cheese tastes awesome.<br />
The bolognese sauce gives a nice tangy taste to to the pizza and mind you it is very heavy and filling.<br />
<br />
The bolognese sauce also contains macaroni in it so basically the pizza construction is like the pizza base then a layer of veg bolognese sauce with macaroni, then a very thin layer of pizza dough which is topped with choice of your topping and molten cheddar and mozarella cheese.<br />
<br />
The crust option is available on medium and large size pizzas at an extra charge of INR 60/- .<br />

1tbsp grated adrak (ginger)<br />
salt to taste<br />
water to boil dal<br />
fresh coriander leaves for garnishing<br />
<br />
<br />
Method<br />
1. Wash the urad ki dal and soak in water for 10 minutes.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Soaked urad dal</td></tr>

2. Now add the dal in the pressure cook and add enough water for boiling the dal. Allow 4 whistles and then lower the heat and cook for 3 minutes or until 1 more whistle and then remove from gas.<br />

<br />
3. Once the steam is released form the pressure cooker add salt, turmeric powder and grated ginger.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Grated ginger in cooked dal </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
4. You can see lots of water still in the dal . We need to boil the dal to achieve a thicker consistency.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirtZZK08VBj1v_j0ccyPM4Rn9iHIGAHYQL-Z2XKmatSkOwWWFZ4lDZABwfTscsjxJaX6TSAG24YkzDEVc44WuV92D-kc2J7EsaPCqHj0fLMqQnNnsHlSGB7wKmhvRZ8z6o4d9zyGFf2FI/s1600/dal+boiling.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="188" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirtZZK08VBj1v_j0ccyPM4Rn9iHIGAHYQL-Z2XKmatSkOwWWFZ4lDZABwfTscsjxJaX6TSAG24YkzDEVc44WuV92D-kc2J7EsaPCqHj0fLMqQnNnsHlSGB7wKmhvRZ8z6o4d9zyGFf2FI/s320/dal+boiling.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Dal boiling</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
5. Once the desired consistency is achieved we prepare the tadka (tempering). Heat oil in a small ladle and add cumin seeds. Once the cumin seeds crackle add hing and lal mirch powder. As soon lal mirch powder mixes in oil add the tadka to the dal. The secret to get the nice red color of tadka is that the lal mirch podwer should not get burnt in the oil.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggZyYCVHCtGAqShj54c4zG85N6iBEapSF9SVyIPDiRnna6kG34q-ccxtkglB5x-eq7n-Px_Pdw8qcamXEQbpcPVvVvZHnL-Zk7BmHzpjBXfF1VgzXC5yaP71kzEWml1KgpzWvDP75lLQk/s1600/tempering.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggZyYCVHCtGAqShj54c4zG85N6iBEapSF9SVyIPDiRnna6kG34q-ccxtkglB5x-eq7n-Px_Pdw8qcamXEQbpcPVvVvZHnL-Zk7BmHzpjBXfF1VgzXC5yaP71kzEWml1KgpzWvDP75lLQk/s320/tempering.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The Tadka</td></tr>

6. Garnish the dal with fresh coriander leaves and then the dal is ready to eat.<br />

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
My dad told me to try Cafe Good Luck. I must say it is a nice place to have good food at low cost :).<br />
<div>
The place is entirely packed through out the day. The place attracts all generation of people from youngsters to people coming along with family.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We had gone during lunch hours and tried rumali roti , special chapati and Good Luck Special Boneless chicken.The chicken was awesome - very soft and the gravy is was full of fire with chunks of onion pieces in it.The rumali roti is very soft and light and is served nicely folded in square shape.<br />
The entire meal cost was INR 191 :) </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
After a great lunch we decided visit the place again to try the breakfast delicacies. The breakfast starts at 6 AM and the cafe is open till 11 PM.We tried the famous brun maska and bun cheese omelette.The brun maska is a small bread loaf with the outer crust a little hard like a rusk and filled with generous quantity of maska ( butter) . The brun maska should be had along with tea because you can dip it in tea and easily bite into the hard crust of the brun. The bun cheese omelette is basically a cheese slice, omelette served between the bun. The bun is a big sweet bun with cherry in it and is really fresh. <br />
<br /></div>
<div>
The next thing we tried was chicken cheese grilled sandwich and chutney sandwich. The chicken cheese sandwich had lots of chunks of chicken and cheese and was grilled perfectly. The chutney sandwich had nice layer of maska and chutney ( not grilled) , the bread slices were fresh and soft and was awesome. In all we spent approx INR 180 for the awesome breakfast. A must visit to this place when you are in Pune.<br />
